Security: ID Badge Policy

Download:

Purpose

To ensure the safety and security of all individuals on [Company Name] property, all employees, contractors and guests will be required to obtain and wear a company issued identification (ID) badge while at work.

Procedures

Company Employees

As a vital part of our security system, a [Company Name] identification badge with your name, photo and department will be issued to you on your first day of employment. The ID badge is also your electronic key to enter the building and other secured areas as needed. Everyone is required to wear an ID badge in plain view while on [Company Name] premises.

If your identification badge is lost or stolen, you must obtain a replacement. Lost or stolen badges should be reported to security as soon as possible. Failure to wear your ID badge or excessive loss or damage to cards can lead to disciplinary action.

Upon termination, employees will be required to return ID badges to the human resources department as part of the exit interview.

Contractors and Temporary Staff

Contractors and temporary staff with assignments lasting [number] or more weeks will be issued a photo ID badge. Those with a shorter assignment may be issued a temporary [Company Name] ID badge without a photo. Access to additional secured areas will be addressed on a case by case basis. Contractors and temporary ID badges must be worn on the issued lanyard around the neck at all times while on campus.

Lost or stolen cards should be reported to security as soon as possible. Failure to wear your ID badge or excessive loss or damage to cards can lead to disciplinary action or removal from the assignment.

Temporary and contractor staff are required to return ID badges to the human resources department on the last day of the assignment.

Visitors

Individuals visiting [Company Name] locations must check-in with the front desk and will be issued a temporary visitor pass to be worn at all times while on [Company Name] premises. No electronic key access will be provided to visitors as they must be escorted by a [Company Name] employee at all times.
