Katie Brennan, SHRM-CP, is a seasoned HR professional with over 20 years of experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, and hospitality. Since joining SHRM as an HR Knowledge Advisor in 2015, Katie has been a trusted resource for HR professionals seeking practical guidance on complex HR matters.
Her career spans both public and private sectors, supporting organizations of all sizes. Katie’s expertise covers the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent management, compliance, employee relations, organizational development, benefits, and strategic workforce planning.
Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Florida, and SHRM specialty credentials in California Law HR, U.S. Employment Immigration, Talent Acquisition, HR Department of One, and Inclusive Workplace Culture.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys listening to podcasts, spending time with friends, and planning her next trip.
