Senate Blocks McFerran's NLRB Reappointment
On Dec. 11, in a 50 to 49 Senate vote, current chair of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Lauren McFerran’s nomination failed, meaning she will not be confirmed for another term. The voting occurred largely on party lines, with Sens. Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) voting against the confirmation. Due to the outcome of the vote, the balance on the NLRB will likely flip to a Republican Board earlier into President-Elect Trump’s administration. McFerran’s term expires Dec. 16
