SHRM Head of Government Affairs Receives National Recognition
Emily M. Dickens, J.D., SHRM chief of staff and head of government affairs, has been named a 2025 Top Lobbyist in the Association Category by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics (NILE). This recognition honors professionals who exemplify leadership, integrity, and measurable impact in promoting effective and ethical advocacy.
The 2025 NILE awards drew more than 550 nominations from across the country, and only 100 honorees were chosen from a pool of nearly 50,000 registered lobbyists at the state and federal levels. Dickens’ selection underscores the impact and prominence of SHRM’s Government Affairs work in shaping workplace policy globally.
“Advocacy is about impact,” Dickens said. “At SHRM, we use our voice to advance policies that strengthen work, workers, and workplaces around the world. This recognition reflects the power of collective effort — the SHRM team, our members, and partners — who are deeply committed to creating workplaces that work for all. I’m honored to do this work, and even more honored to do it with purpose and integrity.”
