The Supreme Court can seem far removed from the day-to-day work of HR, but its decisions can have significant implications for employers and workplace compliance. This session will demystify how the Supreme Court works, how workplace issues reach the Court, and what HR professionals need to know when the Court weighs in. Speakers will recap key decisions from the 2025–26 term through an HR lens, explain what those decisions mean for employers, and preview the legal issues to watch as the October 2026 term begins. The discussion will also touch on how challenges to federal laws, regulations, executive actions and state-federal authority can ultimately reach the Court. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for understanding Supreme Court developments and determining when a decision requires action, further assessment or simply continued monitoring.
