Paula Goldman is Salesforce’s first-ever Chief Ethical and Humane Use Officer and an EVP of Product. In her role, she leads Salesforce in creating a framework to build and deploy trustworthy technology, with a particular focus on AI and data. Prior to Salesforce, Paula was VP and Head of the Tech and Society Solutions Lab as well as VP of Impact Investing at Omidyar Network, an investment firm founded by eBay founder, Pierre Omidyar. As an entrepreneur and investor, she lived and worked across multiple countries including India, Ghana, Kenya, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bosnia, the UK, and the US. Paula is a member of the US National AI Advisory Committee, established by Congress to advise the president, where she chaired the Generative AI Working Group. She has been an advisor to multiple start-ups, and a fellow at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Paula earned a Ph.D. from Harvard University, where she did a dissertation on how unorthodox ideas become mainstream.
