As the workplace evolves, CHROs are facing increasing challenges in navigating the C-suite and establishing themselves as strategic business partners. To explore these challenges and uncover effective approaches, SHRM conducted research on how CHROs can strengthen their influence with executive leaders, particularly CEOs and CFOs, to drive meaningful organizational impact. Drawing on insights from 116 CEOs, 143 CHROs, and 157 CFOs, the research examines how CHROs are perceived within the C-suite, where opportunities exist to expand their strategic influence, and why building strong executive partnerships is essential. The findings highlight the need for CHROs to align workforce strategies with business goals, deepen their technological and financial expertise, and use data-driven communication to cement their role as key drivers of organizational success.
