Job Summary:
The Branch Secretary will perform various secretarial duties for the bank to ensure its smooth operation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Warmly greets clients.
- Writes, proofreads, and edits correspondence.
- Plans and schedules meetings for banking officers and reschedules missed appointments.
- Oversees the calendar for bank management.
- Develops, organizes, and maintains files.
- Maintains inventory and purchases equipment and supplies as needed; negotiates with vendors concerning purchase of routine banking supplies.
- Oversees the basic maintenance of office equipment.
- Prepares, secures, and retrieves client financial information.
- Retrieves, sorts, and delivers mail; prepares outgoing mail and posts it at the end of each day.
- Makes necessary travel arrangements for bank employees.
- Relieves or assists other clerical staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 50 WPM.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to speak warmly and professionally to customers, managers, and co-workers.
- Ability to use professional telephone etiquette.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask and manage interruptions politely.
- Basic understanding of corporate financial procedures.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in Office Administration preferred.
- Completion of financial coursework preferred.
- Experience in an office or bank setting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
