Job Summary:
The Computer Systems Hardware Analyst will assess the organizations future needs for information technology and information systems infrastructure.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluates assigned network and systems for performance, security, and other issues.
- Analyzes data processing requirements to effectively plan a data processing system that will provide the system capabilities necessary for projected workloads.
- Collaborates with data processing and project managers to determine limitations and capabilities of the existing system, and the capabilities required for future data processing projects and projected workload.
- Determines optimal hardware configurations by evaluating a variety of factors such as the number of departments serviced by data processing equipment, volume of transactions, and need for security and access restrictions.
- Determines, suggests, and plans layout for computers and peripheral equipment, including necessary changes to existing equipment and systems required to ensure efficient operation and effective use of allotted space.
- Determines power supply requirements and configurations.
- Assists users with software, hardware, connectivity, and related issues; provides training on new or modified equipment.
- Ensures system operates in line with specifications by monitoring equipment functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and address needs of users.
- Thorough understanding of computer system hardware principles and procedures.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field required.
- At least four years of related work experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
