Job Summary:

The Intelligence Analyst will evaluate intelligence reports, applying a broader framework of knowledge and expertise to understand and provide guidance regarding potential and emerging security threats.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collects and reviews intelligence reports from field agents.
  • Collects and evaluates information from a variety of sources.
  • Verifies the reliability and validity of information.
  • Identifies persons and events of interest in reports; assesses newly acquired knowledge in connection with the broader context of the area and/or people involved.
  • Prepares a comprehensive report of all information including maps, charts, and analysis and research used.
  • Conducts extensive and comprehensive research, initiating and performing both independent and coordinated team research.
  • Reviews and analyzes communication records such as telephone calls or internet activity to understand the activities and scope of assigned target enterprises and members.
  • Creates charts, trees, and other visual aids to understand and demonstrate relationships, hierarchies, and flow of money in organizations.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains intelligence records and files.
  • Develops, maintains, and uses databases and software applications for research and analysis.
  • Makes predictions about and recommendations to prevent future criminal activities based on collected intelligence data and behavioral analysis.
  • Reports findings to government officials or other enforcement professionals to properly address threats and events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of various analysis tools including databases, imagery analysis, and other automated tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and computer skills.
  • Ability to present reports with clarity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to maintain utmost level of confidence concerning all data and intelligence findings.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in criminal justice, psychology, or other related field required; Masters degree highly preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Extensive domestic and international travel may be required.
