Job Summary:
The Subrogation Investigator will investigate automotive accidents, collaborate with clients and legal counsel, and pursue subrogation from appropriate parties who are legally responsible for damages.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Interviews the insured, reads related police reports, examines claims, and communicates with other involved parties (and/or their carriers) to establish subrogation claim.
- Educates clients on subrogation rights.
- Reads medical reports; reviews medical prognoses, treatments, and expenses.
- Gathers necessary materials for filings or ongoing proceedings.
- Drafts and prepares comprehensive reports providing information on the cause of accident and the extent and cost of property damage or casualty losses.
- Prepares claim against appropriate liable insurance carrier or individual (when uninsured).
- Corresponds with other parties; assists with negotiations.
- Presents reports and documentation to legal counsel for litigation.
- Verifies that records are complete, accurate, signed, and notarized per requirements.
- Monitors case progress until settlement is achieved.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of automobile insurance contracts.
- Thorough understanding of subpoena and legal filing processes and requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a professional telephone manner.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage correspondence and reports.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
- At least two years of experience as a claims auditor, processing specialist, or similar role highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
