Employees have stopped treating wellbeing as a perk. They're building their lives around it, and judging employers on whether the workplace keeps up.
Wellhub surveyed more than 5,000 full-time employees across 10 global markets to find out where that leaves HR. The findings point to a widening gap between what companies offer and what people actually need:
- Only 29% rate their employer's wellness program as good, down from 41% a year ago
- 62% reported burnout symptoms in the past year
- Core benefits like fitness, nutrition, therapy and flexible work are each offered by just 15% to 17% of employers
- 86% say wellbeing at work matters as much as salary, and 85% would consider leaving an employer that neglects it
- Just 17% strongly agree that wellness is genuinely part of their company's culture
The report covers what's driving the shift, how employees are coping, where benefits programs are falling short, and how wellbeing now shapes hiring, satisfaction and retention. It closes with a practical playbook for building culture through wellness.
