SHRM Announces Doris Kearns Goodwin as Main Stage Speaker at Employment Law and Compliance Conference ELCC 2023




ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) announced today that Pulitzer Prize-Winning, NY Times #1 Bestselling Author & Presidential HistorianDoris Kearns Goodwin will join the SHRM Employment Law and Compliance Conference 2023 (ELCC) in Washington, D.C., and virtually as a Main Stage Speaker. 

The SHRM Employment Law and Compliance Conference will take place February 26-28, 2023 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C. Doris will join a Main Stage session titled, “Leadership in Turbulent Times,” where she will share her deep knowledge and understanding of previous crises to illustrate how leaders motivated and inspired their teams. 


“As SHRM is celebrating its 75th Anniversary year, it is a gift to be able to have world-renowned historian Doris Kearns Goodwin join us for our Employment Law and Compliance Conference,” shares Johnny C. Doris is a presidential historian, international keynote speaker, Pulitzer Prize-winning, New York Times #1 best-selling author and a partner in Pastimes Productions. Her award-winning book “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” was the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s film “Lincoln,” which earned 12 Academy Award® nominations, including an Academy Award for actor Daniel Day-Lewis for his portrayal of the 16th president. “Team of Rivals” is often cited as an inspiration for business and political leaders, including President Barack Obama, and was awarded the prestigious Lincoln Prize, the inaugural Book Prize for American History, and Goodwin in 2016 was the first historian to receive the Lincoln Leadership Prize from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation.
