Preparing for Election Day 2026
This year's midterm election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. Voters will elect members of Congress, along with state and local officials and, depending on the jurisdiction, other candidates and ballot measures. Early voting is available in most states, although the dates, locations, eligibility requirements, and procedures vary. In some jurisdictions, employees may also have access to absentee voting and mail voting. To help members understand the voting laws in their states, SHRM has created a 2026 Election Hub to help verify registration status, check voting deadlines, and locations. Voters may also want to check with their local voting officials for any last-minute updates.
