Get Your Whole Team SHRM-Certified

Multiply the benefits of certification and save on exam fees with group discounts

​When everyone on your team joins in the effort to earn their SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential, the advantages of certification increase—and the expenses decrease. Any organization with a group of five or more certification candidates can benefit from SHRM's volume exam purchase program, which enables organizations to save up to 30 percent on exam fees by reserving seats ahead of time.

Certify your team collectively to strengthen your workforce exponentially. SHRM will facilitate the multistage certification process for your team with concierge service, from providing a convenient single source for payment to scheduling everyone to take the exam onsite at the same time.

To apply for the volume discount—five or more exam seats purchased in advance at the reduced rate of $270 per exam—complete and send in the online form. A SHRM representative will respond with options tailored to your organization's needs and answer any questions. 

Getting Your Team Discount 

Specific requirements must be met to receive a discount under the volume exam purchase program. The purchase must cover five or more exam seats for the testing window in which they are purchased. Payment must be received and processed by SHRM before applicants are cleared to schedule a testing appointment. All purchases must be made by the standard exam application deadline. Upon completion of payment, a SHRM certification representative will prepare personalized instructional materials to send to the organization's point of contact. The organization will identify five or more prospective candidates for certification.  The candidates will then apply to take the exam using a voucher code. (See the links for more details and instructions.)

The organization may purchase additional exam seats (after the initial purchase of five or more) at the reduced price, provided the new purchase is also made by the standard application deadline.

Preparing Your Team for the Exam

Once a group appointment has been arranged for everyone to take the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam together, it's time to help everyone prepare with the SHRM Learning System. Team delivery enables the entire team to receive exam preparation training, facilitated by a SHRM-certified instructor. SHRM will handle the details of providing course materials and figuring out whether in-person, virtual or hybrid training is the best solution for your organization's unique needs.

The benefits of preparing for the exam as a team will persist throughout your HR department even if not every team member eventually passes the exam. SHRM research has shown that the study experience improves candidates' performance on the job as well as on the exam. It's an effective form of team engagement, promoting a common HR language, and boosting morale, productivity and skills.
