Job Summary:

The Product Repairer will inspect, clean, sort, rework, refurbish, and/or discard in-process and finished products to ensure only functioning, high-quality products reach customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Retrieves products to be inspected from specified areas, safely transferring to inspection station using hand trucks.
• Carefully examines and sorts each item, placing defective products in designated scrap bins.
• Reserves any salvageable pieces or materials for return to assembly department.
• Delivers filled bins to quality assurance department for review.
• Thoroughly cleans repairable products, makes needed adjustments and repairs using simple hand tools.
• Sorts repaired products on pallets for delivery to appropriate areas.
• Counts and logs items into appropriate categories such as repaired goods, finished goods, and scrap items.
• Observes and notes any frequent quality defects, reporting trends to supervisor.
• Stands in as substitute on assembly lines during breaks or lunch periods.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow directions and work well on a team.
• Basic mechanical and repair skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding o, and the ability to abide by OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to compile reports and logs.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.
• Completion of on the job training may be substituted for education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Visual acuity to inspect products and perform minor repairs.
• Due to exposure to considerable amounts of noise, hearing protection will be required.
• Manual dexterity to inspect and repair products.
