Building South Carolina’s Workforce, One Partnership at a Time
I am honored to share that I have been appointed by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) to serve on the State Workforce Development Board, a role that reflects both my personal passion and my professional commitment to strengthening our state’s talent pipeline.

For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Greenville County Workforce Development Board, including over five years as its chair. In that time, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful collaboration between employers, educators, and policymakers can be in transforming the lives of individuals, families, and communities. Workforce development isn’t just about filling jobs — it’s about creating opportunity, dignity, and pathways for growth.
This mission aligns perfectly with SHRM’s Education-to-Employment (E²) Initiative, which focuses on repairing the nation’s fractured talent pipeline through awareness, advocacy, and action. The E² Initiative calls on employers, educators, and community leaders to work together to modernize learning systems, strengthen skills-based pathways, and ensure no worker or learner is left behind. Serving on the South Carolina State Workforce Development Board offers an opportunity to put these principles into practice by connecting state policy, employer engagement, and community action in real time.
As a longtime SHRM volunteer — having served as Greenville SHRM chapter president and SC SHRM State Council workforce readiness director, veterans inclusion captain, and district director — I’ve seen how HR professionals can lead in building these bridges. Through E², SHRM is empowering its members nationwide to drive local solutions that make education more relevant, employment more accessible, and the workforce more resilient.
I look forward to serving on the State Workforce Development Board and continuing this important work to advance the E² vision — building a stronger, more inclusive workforce for South Carolina and the generations to come.
