Job Summary:
The Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) Member will protect the internal and external security of the companys information systems, implementing protocols designed to respond to authentic or attempted system breaches.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Vigilantly monitors IT system for suspicious activities that may indicate intrusion attempts.
- Periodically checks intrusion detection system (IDS) within the network and host-based sensors.
- Deploys team members to execute security protocols at any sign of suspicious activity.
- Executes protection and recovery procedures to identify any actual data loss and restore normal operations.
- Collaborates with other SIRT members to create reports detailing suspicious events and responses.
- Identifies and reports any weaknesses in the existing protocols, suggesting modifications and improvements.
- Assists with modifications to the security system as directed.
- Provides or assists with end-user security training as requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Organized, with attention to detail.
- Ability to remain cooperative and professional in stressful situations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
- At least one year of experience in computer security field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to be on call for emergencies occurring outside of normal business hours.
