Skincare Specialist




Job Summary:

The Skincare Specialist will provide health and beauty treatments using specialized skincare treatments and techniques.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administers skin treatments in various settings such as spas, salons, or doctors offices.
  • Consults with clients to evaluate skin conditions and makes initial recommendations for skin treatments and solutions.
  • Performs various routine skincare treatments including dermabrasion and facial cleansing.
  • Performs specialized treatments to improve condition of damaged skin. These may include treatments for rosacea, dehydration, aging, and sun damage.
  • Teaches clients to properly clean and care for their skin; recommends skincare and cosmetics products to clients.
  • Refers clients to a dermatologist when necessary.
  • Maintains a clean and sterile work area; ensures that tools are also kept clean and sterile.
  • Maintains records of treatments administered; monitors and documents clients progress.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new skincare treatments, developments, and products.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of skincare treatments and products.
  • Extensive knowledge of skin conditions and how to treat them.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to consult with clients to determine best method of treatment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • State cosmetology license required; skin care licensing optional.
  • Three years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a workstation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
