A series exploring bold ideas for a thriving future of work.
Introducing the 2026 Tharseo Series
Tharseo comes from the ancient Greek verb θαρσέω — to be bold, take heart, and act with courage and clarity. It reflects the mindset needed to navigate complexity and shape the future of work.
Hosted by the SHRM Foundation, the Tharseo Series is a year-long platform for bold thinking, shared learning, and cross-sector collaboration. The series convenes employers, policymakers, educators, researchers, and community leaders to explore emerging workforce challenges and co-create actionable ideas for a thriving future of work.
The 2026 series will focus on the Foundation’s Thriving Together initiative, exploring how workplaces can build cultures of care to advance well-being, resilience, and long-term human flourishing.
Why Now?
AI disruption, workforce shifts, caregiving pressures, and rising well-being challenges are reshaping the world of work. These issues are too interconnected for any one sector to solve alone.
The future of work requires courage, clarity, imagination, and collaboration. It requires Tharseo.
