Arion Castillo grew up in an impoverished neighborhood where access to opportunity was limited, but resilience and determination were part of everyday life. From an early age, Arion observed how environment and circumstance can shape not only career paths, but also how individuals see their own potential. These experiences instilled a lasting commitment to helping others create pathways toward stability, purpose, and upward mobility through meaningful work.
Driven by a desire to understand human behavior and improve systems that influence opportunity, Arion pursued a background in industrial-organizational psychology. This academic foundation shaped a perspective centered on the connection between individual fulfillment and organizational structure. Over time, Arion developed a strong interest in how people discover purpose in their work and how workplaces can either limit or unlock that sense of meaning and possibility.
In her professional work, Arion has focused on improving employee access to mental health and workplace support resources, particularly through Employee Assistance Program (EAP) education and navigation. She has contributed to the development and delivery of training designed to demystify available benefits, reduce stigma around seeking help, and empower employees with the tools that they need to create the career that they desire. This work reflects her broader commitment to removing barriers that prevent individuals from fully engaging in both their personal well-being and professional growth.
Arion’s work also emphasizes the importance of organizational systems, leadership, and culture in shaping employee experiences. She is passionate about helping create workplaces that foster psychological safety, clarity, and inclusivity, while also supporting individuals in identifying their strengths and turning their passions into sustainable careers. Through the SHRM HR Rising Leaders Program, Arion looks forward to expanding her impact by further developing her leadership skills and contributing to the creation of workplaces where people can thrive both personally and professionally.
