I've always been fascinated by understanding what motivates people and how to find and achieve our full potential. This started me down a path in education, where after receiving my degree at Brigham Young University, I went on to teach AP Psychology, U.S. History, and World History for two years at an American International School in Saudi Arabia. There were times in my past where mental illness had made it difficult for me to get close to my potential. Seeing others around me deal with similar things drew me to New York City, where I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University. It was during grad school that I learned about the world of HR and felt drawn to the idea of being proactive instead of reactive with addressing well-being, that organizations can be one of the greatest settings to help people fulfill their potential, and that HR is uniquely situated to make that possible.
Over the last 3.5 years, I’ve risen from People Operations Intern to HRIS Senior Analyst at Onbe, where I have working at the intersection of people initiatives, data, and technology to help automate processes while also informing decisions around hiring, employee engagement, AI, talent management, and retention. I'll be bringing that same lens to my new role as Associate of HR Technology at Vista Equity Partners, where I'll be focused on automation and AI initiatives. AI is profoundly shaping the way we work and helping organizations navigate that shift thoughtfully and with people at the center is where I look forward to being.
I am honored to have been selected for the SHRM HR Tomorrow Leadership Program. It feels like a meaningful milestone in this stage of my career and affirms the value of a nontraditional path. It has given me the confidence to stand more fully in my identity and in my expertise, and I hope that by showing up as my full self, I can help make it a little easier for the people around me to do the same.
