Job Summary:
The Engineering Environmental Planner will analyze and report on environmental impacts of engineering projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Forecasts environmental impact of construction, debris removal, and other engineering projects.
- Researches federal, state, and local environmental quality and protection regulations and advises departmental staff on compliance requirements.
- Prepares project applications and submits permit applications.
- Ensures that company complies with environmental permit conditions.
- Monitors contractors and their work to ensure that timelines are met and work meets quality standards established in the contract.
- Builds and maintains positive professional relationships with relevant government agencies and departments and private consultants.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of environmental issues and planning principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn the federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and plans.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Planning, or related field required.
- Five years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse construction sites.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to various construction locations.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
