Job Summary:
The Lead Word Processor is responsible for producing, proofreading, and maintaining a variety of complex business documents. In the lead role, the Lead Word Processor also assists and guides other Word Processors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Guides, directs, and evaluates the work of assigned Word Processors.
- Schedules and assigns word processing activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Produces and proofreads a variety of complex business documents including some that are of high priority and/or confidential in nature.
- Consults with various staff members to understand information that is required.
- Saves and stores documents and projects as assigned to the appropriate device, system, network, and/or cloud storage area as appropriate.
- Revises existing data.
- Performs protocol conversions and data translations.
- Operates within cost guidelines.
- Completes multiple assignments by prioritizing and delegating when necessary and appropriate.
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent and professional communication skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to type at least 55 WPM.
- Accurate and detail-oriented.
- Ability to make independent judgements and decisions concerning specific assignments.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree; or high school diploma with at least two years of relevant experience, required.
- At least four years of related experience, with some experience directing the professional work of others.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
