Job Summary:
The Network Services Designer will plan and design telecommunications networks and infrastructures to meet the organizations or clients needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors to understand the end users needs and to determine the appropriate network installation and hardware.
- Develops, designs, specifies, and documents LAN and WAN configurations based on user needs; uses outside resources as needed.
- Designs proposed network systems, indicating placement and layout of hardware and peripheral devices including hubs, routers, and other equipment.
- Collaborates with the network administrator to review and analyze hardware needs; recommends changes.
- Facilitates the network design, revision, implementation, and refinement process.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and new technology related to networking infrastructure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Basic understanding of existing network programs and capabilities.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent network experience required.
- At least three years of experience in network maintenance and support preferred.
- A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
