Job Summary:
The Clinical Program Supervisor will assure the quality of services provided to the service recipients, coordinate day-to-day operations of the assigned unit, and recommend and implement changes that improve delivery of services. The Supervisor will also provide direct services as determined by the Program Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises the service staff of the assigned program, evaluates employee performance, and makes recommendations for employment actions to the Program Director.
- Directs the daily operations of assigned unit(s) and schedules meetings, services, and workers' time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for quality assurance in the unit's service delivery including clinical care and documentation.
- Recommends changes to improve service delivery and implements changes and new programming.
- Ensures continuity of care in the provision of comprehensive services and for coordinating communication with other service components.
- Serves on agency committees, work groups, and other bodies.
- Adheres to the agencys policies and procedures, and its code of ethics and complies with the State Mental Health Code.
- Complies with the agency standard for service delivery.
- Provides field instruction for students in his or her respective professional discipline as opportunities permit.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Clinical expertise in crisis intervention, skills in working with the chronically mentally ill population, and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress; skills in diagnosis and assessment.
- Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent the agency in the community.
- Ability to lead a staff of professionals and paraprofessionals.
- Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
- Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
- Flexibility in days and hours available for work including weekends.
- Ability to adhere to the professional code of ethics.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with the State Mental Health Code.
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in a mental health discipline required, certified consulting/lcensed psychologist (PhD), psychiatric nurse (MSN), clinical social worker (ACSW) preferred.
- Appropriate professional registration/certification by state/national authority required (CSW, RN, etc.).
- At least three years of professional experience in mental health or human services.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
