Riniya Countiss
Riniya Countiss is a human resources coordinator at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, specializing in recruitment and talent acquisition.
With a passion for helping others and making a positive impact, Riniya started her HR career in 2021 as a recruitment assistant. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to not only contribute to organizations and their growth but to help job seekers take the next steps in their careers and be a resource to them throughout their professional journeys. Her recruitment experience encompasses roles at Belmont Point Management LLC/AV3 Inc. and TDI.
Riniya is a member of her local SHRM chapter, the Human Resources Association of Southern Maryland (HRASM). She is also an active member of Maryland SHRM (MD SHRM), currently serving as its director of social media and marketing. Riniya has attended two HRASM conferences and two MD SHRM conferences and is on the planning committee for the 2024 MD SHRM conference. She looks forward to continuing to build relationships with her fellow HR professionals at these events and maintaining her involvement in MD SHRM.
In 2019, Riniya graduated from Salisbury University with her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and then earned her Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2021. Riniya went on to earn her SHRM-CP, as well as additional HR certifications through SHRM, the SHRM Foundation, and the Academy to Innovate HR (AIHR).
