ALEXANDRIA, Va. – SHRM, the trusted authority on all things work, workers, and the workplace, today announced that acclaimed legal experts and authors Kenji Yoshino and David Glasgow will deliver the opening keynote, “The New Legal Era: What’s Permissible — and How to Lead Through It,” at SHRM BLUEPRINT for Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) 2026.
The keynote is set for November 16 in Nashville, Tenn., during SHRM BLUEPRINT, which runs November 15–18 as part of All Things Work 2026.
As organizations confront mounting legal uncertainty and heightened scrutiny of workplace inclusion efforts, Yoshino and Glasgow will provide leaders with a clear-eyed view of today’s compliance landscape. Their keynote will examine the implications of Ames v. Ohio, changing federal enforcement priorities, and the legal and cultural forces reshaping inclusion strategies.
Yoshino is the Chief Justice Earl Warren Professor of Constitutional Law at NYU School of Law and director of the Meltzer Center for Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging. A Harvard, Oxford, and Yale Law School graduate, specializing in constitutional and antidiscrimination law and previously served as deputy dean at Yale Law School. His work has appeared in leading academic journals, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.
Glasgow is the founding executive director of the Meltzer Center for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging and an adjunct professor at NYU School of Law. A nationally recognized expert on allyship and the law of diversity, equity, and inclusion, he is a dual-qualified attorney in New York and Australia who previously practiced employment, labor relations, and antidiscrimination law at King & Wood Mallesons. His work has appeared in publications including TIME and Harvard Business Review.
Together, Yoshino and Glasgow are the co-authors of Say the Right Thing: How to Talk About Identity, Diversity, and Justice and How Equality Wins: A New Vision for an Inclusive America. Through their scholarship and work with organizations, they offer practical guidance for navigating rapidly evolving legal and cultural questions surrounding workplace inclusion.
SHRM BLUEPRINT for I&D 2026 is designed to empower business leaders with legally sound, performance ready I&D strategies. Attendees will gain greater clarity on emerging legal boundaries, strategies for mitigating organizational risk, and practical approaches to building inclusion strategies that are legally compliant, workplace unifying, and business accretive.
