Job Summary:
The Quality Improvement Office Assistant will assist the quality improvement (QI) staff by entering data in the computer system; creating reports, forms, and graphs; aiding in data collection for special studies; and assisting in the administrative function of peer review.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepares the QI computer system for daily reviews by uploading and downloading information.
- Enters data and creates reports, graphs, tables, and forms concerning quality improvement, utilization review, and infection control.
- Accurately records and relays telephone messages to departmental staff.
- Tallies workload stats such as readmissions, outside review calls, and productivity reports.
- Maintains files and types correspondence for quality improvement coordinator.
- Generates weekly and monthly reports from the QI computer system.
- Assists in the review process by requesting charts from the health records department and notifying physicians of departmental chart reviews.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet) with the ability to create forms, reports, graphs, and tables.
- Ability to work independently at multiple tasks and allocate time efficiently.
- Ability to practice discretion and confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Prior experience in hospital quality management, medical staff services office, or similar background preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
