Job Summary:
The Audiovisual Technician will prepare, arrange, operate, maintain, and repair equipment such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting, and sound equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Trains assigned personnel in simple equipment operation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receives requests for audiovisual (AV) equipment in company conference rooms and training centers; sets up and tests equipment, then operates equipment or hands control over to designated employees.
- Records meetings and presentations with appropriate equipment.
- Provides technical support for teleconferences, webinars, and distance-learning classes.
- Edits, copies, and stores recordings of events.
- Provides advice and suggestions to staff regarding the preparation and use of AV materials for meetings and conferences.
- Tracks inventory of equipment and orders necessary supplies.
- Facilitates needed equipment repairs, which may include shipment of malfunctioning equipment to outside supplier and rental of temporary replacement equipment.
- Participates in orientation meetings as needed to explain department functions and the materials and equipment available.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extremely proficient in computer systems used with multimedia productions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized.
- Ability to perform minor repairs to equipment.
Excellent interpersonal skills in a variety of situations.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Audiovisual Technology or related field preferred.
- At least two years of experience in the operation of audiovisual and video electronics.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working audiovisual equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Excellent hearing and eyesight.
