Job Summary:
The Sustainability Specialist will identify sustainability problems, perform waste stream management, and implement green building practices and green procurement plans.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establishes sustainability project goals, objectives, and strategies; creates and implements plans for related projects.
- Evaluates sustainability initiatives considering factors such as cost and feasibility.
- Drafts and delivers presentations and reports to communicate sustainability initiatives and their effectiveness and environmental impact.
- Produces marketing resources, including brochures or online media, to promote sustainability practices, procedures, and objectives.
- Identifies and obtains resources needed to develop sustainability programs or projects.
- Secures funding for sustainability projects by developing and submitting grant applications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related field required.
- Four years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse various terrains related to sustainability project sites.
