Job Summary:
The Telecommunications Manager will oversee the installation, support, and maintenance of the organizations telephone system and related equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow of telecommunications staff and contractors.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assesses and supports telephone system requirements for different departments in the organization.
- Performs or schedules maintenance for communication systems.
- Provides or facilitates employee training on telephone and related communications systems.
- Periodically reviews system usage, service rates, maintenance costs, and equipment upgrades; makes recommendations for updates and improvements to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Maintains administrative and operations records.
- Monitors telecommunications equipment inventory.
- Assists with preparation of telecommunications budget.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of installation, maintenance, and support of business telecommunication systems and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least four years of experience in telephone systems installation, maintenance, and operation required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to handle physical demands of installation of telephone system equipment, which may include lifting up to 25 pounds at times.
