Job Summary:
The MIS Supervisor will oversee and provide computer and information services support for the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans, leads, and oversees all MIS operations, technology, and services.
- Consults with department heads and upper-level management to understand computing needs, recommending and implementing hardware, software, applications, and services to meet these needs.
- Installs, updates, tests, and maintains new network equipment, servers, databases, and other technology.
- Assists with troubleshooting of complex and specialized problems and needs.
- Maintains records, logs, and metrics related to service and support provided.
- Maintains inventory of workstations, peripherals, software licenses, and other equipment and supplies.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in technology, systems, applications, and equipment; applies this knowledge to recommend and acquire technology suitable for the organizations needs.
- Negotiates prices for hardware, software licensure, and services from vendors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Thorough understanding of information technology, microcomputer hardware and software, and networking principles.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Information Security, Computer Programming, or related field required.
- At least three years of MIS experience with at least one year in a supervisory role required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
