Email Administrator




Job Summary:

The Email Administrator will develop the companys electronic mail network, administer related policies, and recommend network enhancements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and maintains the companys network email system; performs quality and spot checks of system performance.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves users problems with and related to email systems.
  • Collaborates with department heads regarding requested improvements and expansions to existing system.
  • Drafts policies and documents related to the acceptable use and standards of the system.
  • Develops and maintains the companys email protocol, which may include a business-use only policy to maximize professional business usage and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with human resources department to develop guidelines for protection of employee privacy; ensures guidelines are consistent with companys business and security needs.
  • Prepares training materials, or delivers training, on acceptable use of the system.
  • Recommends message retention and archive destruction timeframes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills and understanding.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science required; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • At least two years of PC/LAN experience, preferably with email systems, required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
