EYU Brazil will concentrate on challenging local culture and proposing innovative ways to develop and learn, exploring informal learning, new technology, discussion groups, simulations and self-study. As the designated learning leader for Brazil and nine other South American countries, my challenge also is to implement the same programs throughout the region, always bearing in mind the local needs and culture.
Internal alliances and sponsorships are key. From the beginning, I invested in partnerships and communication with EY leaders. More than 70 percent of the leaders participate as instructors or coordinators. This way, leaders are closer to EYU initiatives and perceive the significance of the corporate university.
The learning and development team is not only responsible for identifying training gaps with each business line leader, but also for measuring the impact of each initiative and the quality perceived by the participants. EYU prepares quantitative and qualitative reports, which are included in EY’s annual sustainability report.
