SHRM Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary in Style at the Las Vegas Convention Center

Welcome to las vegas sign at night.

The SHRM Annual Conference and Expo 2023 (SHRM23) is shaping up to be a great professional development, networking and entertainment opportunity—likely the largest gathering of HR professionals in one place in SHRM's history. What better time to join colleagues to celebrate SHRM's 75th anniversary? You can hear the compelling messages of great speakers on the Main Stage; learn from a wide variety of concurrent, seminar and workshop speakers covering every corner of the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge (SHRM BASK); and attend Tuesday evening's concert with world-renowned icon Janet Jackson.

First-time attendees will want to add the Conference Orientation to their calendar because it provides an all-important overview of the conference's events and highlights the must-see and can't-miss opportunities that await you. Held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 11, right before the opening general session, the orientation provides valuable insights to help first-time attendees understand the scope of the conference, navigate the event, and leverage your time to learn, connect with peers, and explore the Expo Hall.

After the June 11 general session with Zig Sefarin, CEO of Qualtrics, the Expo opens at 4:30 p.m. Carve out time to connect with service providers and vendors representing every aspect of HR. The Expo is also open on June 12 and 13, and a boxed lunch will be served, so you can grab something to eat while you continue to explore. The SHRM23 Expo is the largest HR solutions center in the world. It will feature more than 650 cutting-edge companies displaying and selling the latest HR products and services, including those related to business acumen and HR strategy; employee relations; employment law and compliance; global HR; health, wellness and safety; leadership and skills development; talent acquisition and retention; HR technology; total rewards; and much more.

SHRM offers SHRM-certified professionals two exclusive opportunities to connect while in Las Vegas. The SHRM Certification Lounge provides a place for SHRM-certified professionals to unwind, grab a snack or drink, recharge their cellphones, and learn about a wide variety of recertification options while relaxing on sofas in the video lounge area. Outside the lounge, all who are interested in learning about becoming SHRM-certified can talk with members of the Certification team; the Prometric team, who can help schedule a testing appointment; and the SHRM Learning System team, who will show demos of the SHRM Learning System and explain study options. The lounge will be open from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on June 11, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 12 and 13, and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on June 14.

The lounge is also where you will need to check in to receive the final logistical details regarding an exclusive evening event for SHRM-certified professionals. You do not want to miss the Certified Good Time Party being held June 12 atop the Cromwell Hotel—with the city's best panoramic view of the Las Vegas Strip. This club with indoor and outdoor spaces offers a unique opportunity for fun and connection! Whether you want to take advantage of the photo opportunities overlooking the Strip, dance to the DJ inside, relax by the reflecting pools outside or nosh on delicious hors d'oeuvres, the Certified Good Time Party has something for everyone. Stop by the Certification Lounge on June 11 or 12 to get more information.

With over 300 educational sessions and over 320 speakers, conference attendees can earn up to 28 PDCs to put toward recertification. SHRM will add your PDCs to your recertification record within about 60 days after the conference.
