Erin Binney has been writing and editing for various publications for over 20 years. In her role as copyeditor at SHRM, she has two main goals: to make content clear and accurate for readers/members and to make writers look good. Prior to joining SHRM in 2004, Binney was editor of Securities Publications at CCH Washington Service Bureau, where she covered the Securities and Exchange Commission, financial markets, and related congressional matters, including the Enron hearings. Binney has a B.A. in English from James Madison University and a graduate-level certificate in professional editing from The George Washington University. When she’s not working, Binney enjoys watching college basketball, visiting National Parks, and listening to her righteous acoustic jam.
