As a passionate and seasoned human resource professional, Kim has dedicated more than 30 years to advancing the HR profession and mentoring HR professionals on their growth and development journeys. Known as a trailblazer in her field, Kim began her career as the first HR leader for several organizations before transitioning into consulting, where she has partnered with hundreds of organizations across diverse industries—both for-profit and nonprofit. Her mission has been to mentor HR professionals and strengthen the HR functions within organizations.
In 2017, Kim founded THriv, LLC, a company dedicated to mentoring, coaching, teaching, and training HR professionals and leaders for success. Through THriv, Kim collaborates with organizations to deliver business consulting, training and development, compliance management, and a range of other HR services. In the spring of 2023, Kim published her first book, Burn the Plow, which chronicles her career journey and the lessons she has learned along the way. That same year, she launched her inspirational vlog, Fill My Cup, designed to renew and inspire leaders.
Kim is a sought-after speaker on leadership and human resource topics, having presented at numerous local and national events, including the 2019 and 2022 National SHRM Conferences. She has also spent over 20 years teaching the SHRM HR Essentials, the SHRM Learning System, and other HR-related courses to mentor HR professionals, support their professional development, and help them achieve certification success. Kim teaches through a variety of universities and SHRM partners and is a proud member of the SHRM Instructional Team.
Kim holds the SHRM-SCP certification through the Society for Human Resource Management and is an active member of SHRM. She is also a Past President of the Human Resource Professionals of Central PA. Kim earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Education from York College of Pennsylvania and her MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix.
