SHRM Hosts Health Care Salon Dinner
On Dec. 3, SHRM hosted a health-care-focused salon dinner at its headquarters in Alexandria, Va. The event brought together leaders from health care education, workforce development, provider organizations, and policymakers to discuss actionable strategies for strengthening the health care education-to-employment pipeline through SHRM’s Education-to-Employment (E²) Initiative.
SHRM’s E² Initiative is a multiyear effort aimed at addressing the leaky, broken, and busted U.S. talent pipeline by connecting education, skills, and work.
The dinner highlighted how collaboration across sectors is essential to ensure that emerging talent is equipped to meet the evolving needs of the health care workforce.
The conversation encouraged candid dialogue, allowing participants to share experiences, ask questions, and explore scalable solutions for closing workforce gaps. Discussions focused on aligning educational programs with employer needs, expanding pathways for emerging talent, and fostering partnerships that strengthen the health care talent pipeline.
The dinner was designed to bring together diverse voices to exchange ideas,
identify solutions, and advance meaningful action in health care workforce development. Participants left with a shared understanding of the importance of cross-sector collaboration and practical strategies to support the next generation of health care professionals.
