Generation Z Goes to Work (Infographic)

Generation Z is generally considered to have been born from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s (roughly aged 16-20) and is thought of as being comfortable with technology and communicating through social media. Here are some survey results on how members of Generation Z tend to view their roles in the workplace:


Aspirations:

  • 65% predict they will be more successful than their parents.
  • 63% want to learn about entrepreneurship.
  • 42% expect to work for themselves someday.

Motivators:

  • 34% cite opportunity for advancement as their strongest motivator.
  • 28% said more money would motivate them to work harder and stay with their employer longer.

Methods of Communication:

  • 51% prefer in-person communication.
  • 16% favor e–mail.
  • 11% opt for instant messaging.

Views on Diversity and Inclusion:

  • 74% believe in equal rights for transgender people.
  • 73% believe that same-sex couples should have the right to marry.
