Alexandria, Va.—The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) announced today that eight-time New York Times bestselling author, columnist, radio host, television personality and philanthropist Mitch Albom will join the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo (SHRM23) June 11-14 in Las Vegas and virtually as a Main Stage speaker.

Live on the SHRM23 Main Stage at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Albom will lead a discussion on life, death, empathy and the human connection between us all in an inspirational general session.

"It gives me great pleasure to have Mitch Albom join us for the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo 2023," Taylor said. "As a bestselling author, his work speaks to and resonates with so many people around the globe on a number of life's key issues. He flawlessly weaves empathy and perspective together in a universally understandable way. In today's changing world of work, if we as HR professionals are to be successful, there is an opportunity to follow the same approach for us to effectively drive change in the workplace."

Albom is the author of numerous books of fiction and nonfiction, which have collectively sold more than 40 million copies in 48 languages worldwide. He has written eight New York Times bestsellers—including Tuesdays with Morrie, one of the bestselling memoirs of all time, which topped the list for four straight years—award-winning televised films, stage plays, screenplays, a nationally syndicated newspaper column and a musical. Tuesdays with Morrie is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2022. Through Albom's work at the Detroit Free Press, he was inducted into both the National Sports Media Association and Michigan Sports halls of fame and was the recipient of the 2010 Red Smith Award for lifetime achievement. After bestselling memoir Finding Chika and Human Touch, a weekly serial written and published online in real time to raise funds for pandemic relief, his latest work is a return to fiction with The Stranger in the Lifeboat (Harper, November 2021). He founded the nonprofit SAY Detroit, whose operations include a dessert shop and popcorn line to fund programs for Detroit's most underserved citizens. He also operates an orphanage in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, which he visits monthly. He lives with his wife, Janine, in Michigan.

He will join a lineup of over 200 speakers at SHRM23, which will be offered both virtually and in person. HR professionals, CHROs, people managers and students will have the opportunity to engage on best workplace practices, discuss new data from SHRM, learn about the latest trends and benchmarking, and explore how to a build better workplace culture.
