The Better Workplaces Challenge Cup is a search for innovative workplace technologies that will reinvent how work is done. Sponsored by SHRMLabs, the annual competition aims to bridge the gap between companies that are creating workplace technologies and their end-users: HR professionals and their workforces.
The three-round competition started in February, and the final round will be held in New Orleans at the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo 2022.
This year's competition has been expanded to include applicants from around the world.
Competitors are evaluated on business viability, innovation and added value to SHRM members. The winner receives a $50,000 cash prize and/or other investment opportunities and prizes.
Last year, more than 150 solution providers across the United States initially competed for the prize, with five regional winners invited to present in the final round at the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo 2021 in Las Vegas. Perk stipend software company Compt took home the grand prize.
The competition, launched in 2021, is the first of its kind in which HR practitioners have a direct role in determining the workplace innovations that are truly needed, especially during this time of great disruption in the workplace.
