Job Summary:
The 3D Digital Animator will create three-dimensional (3D) images for computer animation and video games.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with writers to determine how animation (including setting, actions, and other elements) will develop storyline.
- Creates concept sketches and models that will assist with development and selection of final characters and scenes.
- Collaborates with a team of animators to develop appearance, characteristics, and movements of characters, scenes, and other elements.
- Creates digitally animated images based on concept, narrative, and character profiles.
- Meets deadlines and requirements set by production schedule.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extremely proficient in 3D animation software such as 3DS Max, Maya, or Modo.
- Ability to work with a team of writers and animators.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Fine Arts or related field, or comparable technical education, required.
- Two years of related experience required, including both human and nonhuman animation.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
