The Director of Intervention Services will oversee the Medicare Assistance program.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff and volunteers in the department.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department including staff and volunteers.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversees and coordinates the Medicare Assistance Program, assisting clients with insurance and claims and maintaining records for agency reports.
• Drafts and maintains files for volunteer opportunities including job descriptions, required qualifications and work hours, and any training that is offered.
• Creates, implements, and publicizes schedules for availability of Medicare assistance.
• Drafts and distributes periodic reports of client statistics for the department.
• Monitors and approves the use of the agencys emergency assistance fund.
• Promotes and facilitates the programs volunteer staffing services, which may include public relations and outreach efforts including appearances at community events and service groups, media presentations, and publications.
• Plans and coordinates special projects involving donated materials and volunteers.
• Collaborates with other organizations to develop training and learning opportunities for volunteers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Social Work or related field required.
• At least three years of related experience required with program administration and supervision work preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
