Job Summary:
The Security Management Specialist designs security systems and conducts security assessments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and implements security systems and protocols.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs security systems and hardware.
- Continuously monitors security systems and activity.
- Monitors and responds to emergency situations.
- Identifies potential threats to physical security, employee safety, and asset protection.
- Conducts security system inspections.
- Recommends security systems based on findings of security inspection.
- Drafts, maintains, and updates security procedures and documentation.
- Provides training on security procedures and equipment.
- Assists with budget development for security systems and hardware.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of security procedures, systems, and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to prepare documentation and provide training.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field required.
- Three years of security-related experience preferred.
- Security specialist certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to conduct security inspections.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
