People make up the workforce, but also bring challenges, whether their workplace is a manufacturing floor, an 18-wheeler, or an office. Many personal employee situations might require a change in the way work gets done or how a company policy applies. While most people might think of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) when accommodations for an employee’s condition are involved, employees might also be entitled to accommodations under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA). The goal for employers remains to provide an employee with the tools needed to continue to safely perform the job.
This webcast will dig into the federal ADA and the PWFA regarding workplace accommodations for employee conditions. It will also address how the laws are similar to each other and how they differ. In some situations, employers may have defenses against providing certain accommodations, including for safety reasons.
