Job Summary:
The Collateral Asset Adjuster will complete or facilitate property collateral appraisals and construction mortgage inspections to establish accurate market values of loan collateral.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Physically inspects property collateral such as trucks, farming equipment, or other types of property.
- Calculates fair market or salvage value of property; completes required appraisal forms.
- In collaboration with applicable loan officer, performs construction mortgage inspections.
- Prepares detailed reports including description of properties, relevant market conditions, and property value estimates.
- Assists with repossessions of property put up as collateral.
- Determines market value of repossessed property; prepares items for sale and oversees sales activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of property collateral, which may include motor vehicles and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to determine market value of property.
Education and Experience:
- Two to four years of experience in related field required.
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
