Job Summary:
The Data Communications Analyst will evaluate the data needs of the company; plan dynamic and efficient communications systems; and oversee the installation of routers, network drivers, cables, and adapters.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitors communications network system performance.
- Identifies areas of operation that require equipment modifications and upgrades.
- Researches, tests, analyzes, and recommends hardware and software for data communications.
- Learns about available equipment, products, and services through vendors.
- Compiles technical specifications and requirements to send to vendors for bids.
- Assesses, tests, and evaluates hardware and software upgrade options to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems.
- Develops procedures and drafts necessary guidance documentation for installation, use, and troubleshooting of communications hardware and software.
- Trains users in the proper use of existing and new equipment and assists them in identifying and resolving data communications problems.
- Monitors or participates in the installation of communications hardware as directed.
- Performs minor equipment repairs as directed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use a variety of operating systems.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to use integrated computer-aided software engineering tools.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Information Science, Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems, or related field required.
- At least three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
