Job Summary:
The Job Instructor will provide job and safety training, demonstrating proper workplace procedures and standards in a classroom setting and/or in regular operating conditions in the workplace.
This role generally serves as a supplemental role to the Instructors primary employment role with the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greets and welcomes new or transferred employees.
- Identifies job, tasks, safety, processes, and other training needs of employees including new hires and transfers.
- Determines the best method to deliver needed training; prepares materials, locations, and supplies accordingly.
- Explains and demonstrates jobs and tasks to be performed.
- Explains, demonstrates, and emphasizes all safety aspects of jobs and tasks; reviews any applicable job safety analysis with each employee.
- Schedules, organizes, and provides supplemental training when necessary.
- Conducts refresher training sessions when necessary.
- Develops and maintains a library of training and reference materials and documentation.
- Periodically reviews internal training programs then recommends and facilitates improvements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to effectively teach others.
- Excellent interpersonal and observational skills.
Education and Experience:
- Active employment in the role being taught including educational and experience requirements needed to be hired for the role.
- Current certifications or licenses held where required by the job being taught.
- At least one year of experience performing the job being taught.
- Successful completion of the companys training course for Job Instructors required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to perform all operations necessary for training.
- Must be able to assess proficiency of trainees.
