Job Summary:
The Pension Analyst will prepare, administer, review, analyze and audit pension plans, ensuring compliance with IRS requirements and satisfaction of individual clients needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicates with clients to understand their needs to guide pension planning and recommendations.
- Provides guidance and expertise on investment options, offering a wide range of appropriate options and choices based on clients needs and goals.
- Manages and maintains recordkeeping for clients accounts including loan records, tax returns, and quarterly financial statements.
- Reviews plan activity to ensure funds are properly and accurately accounted for, calculated and distributed.
- Provides guidance, required notices, documentation, and other information on plan terminations, mergers and/or spin-offs.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and changes in pension regulations and compliance; applies this knowledge to ensure that pension plans are properly administered.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of pension laws.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required, Masters degree preferred.
- At least five years of experience in all phases of pension administration required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
